David Leaker

David has 18 years experience of delivering ICT products and services within the education market.

David joined Selectasize Visual Aids Ltd in May 1992 after leaving college. Selectasize is a well established supplier of audio visual and presentation equipment to educational establishments and it was here that David learned to understand the complex nature of the education marketplace. During his time at Selectasize, David carried out many varied roles including deliveries, product demonstrations and training, sales, quoting for installations, carrying out installations and project management. David was also involved when Selectasize became the first supplier to install LCD projectors in to universities, opening up the education market to a new way of teaching which is now seen in almost every school.

David was aware of the Matrix launch in 2003 because he knew its founder, Charlie Bennett. Some of David’s ideas were incorporated in the service offerings at Matrix. Over the next 3 years David and Charlie discussed Matrix in detail and shared ideas.

In December 2006 David left Selectasize to join Matrix. Upon joining Matrix, at a time when the company was beginning to expand, David was responsible for helping to develop the growth of the company in a manageable fashion.

David’s role within Matrix is wide reaching. David works closely with Charlie Bennett which involves him in all aspects of the business. David specialises in the management of Matrix, building customer and business to business relationships, HR, quality control and project management.

Although it was hard to leave Selectasize after so many years, David could see that the ethos of Helping Schools Take Control of ICT was very similar in principal to what he had always tried to achieve with Selectasize and the challenge of helping to develop an expanding company was too strong to resist.
