Matrix ICT Services took over a year to plan and implement its SIMS support service, this included:

With the help of senior management and school administrators we believe we have designed competitive packages which offer a personalized and enthused service dedicated to helping schools take more control of what is essentially a very powerful Management Information System.

Building close relationships with all our schools we have helped support and expand their use of SIMS.net, placing strong emphasis on network integration, data quality and the wider access to SIMS in the classroom in order to improve learning and teaching.

The Team

Our dedicated SIMS support team is comprised of experienced, professional and trained SIMS specialists and consultants.

Each member of staff is employed having been assessed on both their technical and user knowledge of SIMS .net and/or FMS and in most cases have previously been working in a school as a SIMS technician or data manager, SIMS support officer for a local authority or directly for Capita as a consultant or support engineer.

Each of our employees has brought a wealth of experience to the role, offering our schools friendly and effective support through our dedicated helpdesk. Our IMS consultant offers the full range of SIMS .net training, tailored to meet an individual schools requirements either onsite at the school or at our learning facility here in our offices in South Croydon.

All our staff are encouraged to develop their skills and regular service appraisals and feedback allows us to constantly monitor and improve our services.

Training & Consultancy

Matrix ICT Services is dedicated to providing full support to schools in the use of their Information Management Systems. As part of our service, the IMS Training Department is able to offer a wide range of training and consultancy to help utilise SIMS to its full potential.

Within our offices in South Croydon, we have a Learning Facility where we are able to offer scheduled training courses in all areas of SIMS.

We strive to offer flexible and tailored training courses to meet the needs of schools. This can be carried out on the school site, or in our Learning Facility if that is preferable. Therefore, if a school would like to purchase a certain training course for the day, or more specifically tailored sessions perhaps for smaller groups this can be arranged.

In terms of our consultancy days, we can also assist in working with the school’s data, this could be helping with Assessment, Behaviour Management, or even looking at the quality of the school’s SIMS database.

For instance we have experience of working with a number of schools in setting up their Assessment systems in SIMS .net. This involved a consultation with the appropriate staff i.e. Senior Leadership or Assessment Coordinator to discuss the school’s requirements, setting up the relevant templates, marksheets, reports, importing any data if needed, and then delivering training for key members of staff.

In general, our philosophy is to work with schools to find out their requirements, and assist staff in getting the most out of SIMS to drive whole school improvement.

Awareness Events

Our free 1-2 hour awareness events are designed to encourage the efficient and effective use of management information software in schools to improve learning and teaching as well as meet government targets such as Parental Engagement and Online Reporting

These compact sessions give users the opportunity to see areas within their MIS that they may have been unaware of or have had limited time to investigate in between their busy daily tasks within the school.
